OneBox for Scrap

Create an economical OneBox for YOUR sorting needs

The "sort everything" package! Combines world's leading XRF metals sorter with breakthrough LIBS testing with argon purge. Go faster, and get those upgrades. And great customer service.

We now have a OneBox for your needs and your price point. Use the Z for dedicated aluminum sorting, or for measuring Li, Be and/or B in alloys. The Z is optionally available to measure carbon, for sorting out carbon steels or L versus H-grade stainless. For everything else – high temps, stainless, red metals, including fast aluminum, there’s the X. Either unit backs up the other for peak demand. All in one economical package with the same batteries, charger and cables, running on Android OS with the ease of a smart phone.

Start with our powerful LIBS

Analyze your aluminum alloys with high precision AND sort your high temps and stainless — all without an X-ray source!

Z 900 Series LIBS for 15-20 elements in 7 common alloy bases. Use argon-purge to sort and sell mill-ready aluminum scrap. Measures elements that XRF can’t, like Li in aluminum; Be in coppers and aluminums; B in nickels, duplex steels, and aluminums.

Z-901

Rapid material sorting or grade identification. (Add the dual-burn option at any time.) Analyze your aluminum alloys with high precision AND sort your high temps and stainless —all without an X-ray source!

Z-901 CSi

The most efficient tool for XRF operators who only need the occasional carbon measurement, Z-901 CSi is a compact handheld dedicated strictly to C and Si in steels, including L-grade stainless.

Z-902

For those who need to measure lithium in alloys, the Z-902 has an extended range to 625 nm to measure Li emission.

Three reasons to get LIBS: 1. You need to measure elements that X-ray can’t, like carbon in steel and Li, Be, B in aluminums, copper alloys or nickels. 2. You want best possible performance on aluminum. 3. You don’t want an X-ray device due to regulatory reasons.

Pair it with our industry-leading XRF

The world’s lightest, smallest, fastest, high precision family X-ray analyzers. Just under 3 lbs., it's sleek and smart, lightweight and tough.

X-550 Scrapper XRF is the ultimate lightweight, durable scrap sorter. The Aluminum App sorts faster than any other analyzer with 1-2 second tests for Mg, Si. As always: fast, precise chemistry on high temps, stainless, red metals, specialty alloys and turnings. Improve your economics with fine sorting of aluminum, fast testing for low P and S in copper and ferrous, and low LOD on tramp elements.

X-505 XRF Analyzer Gun

X-50 analyzer

X-550 The star of the fleet. No compromises. Sorts aluminum alloys, even those that differ by small amounts of Mg or Si, in 1-2 seconds. As fast as stainless, high temps and red metals. No other X-ray gun can make this claim. The X-550 includes our patent pending Aluminum App.

X-505 Second only to the X-550, the X-505 can measure all elements but with slightly longer testing times for Mg, Al, Si, P and S. By far the fastest of any X-ray gun (except the X-550) on aluminum.

X-50 The most economical model. Perfect choice for basic sorting of stainless, high temps and red metals. It does not measure Mg, Al, Si, P or S. For aluminums, sort by 2000, 3003-type, 7050, 7075, 7000-type and MLCs.

Three reasons to get the X-550: 1. It’s as fast on aluminums, including Mg, Si, as it is on high-temps. 2. It defends the detector with a composite-reinforced nylon safety grid, avoiding punctures from turnings. 3. Service costs are less than half the competition – eliminate anguishing detector and tube replacements.

When to use laser instead of X-ray?

Carbon: Sort your ferrous by carbon content, and segregate your stainless into L and H grades.

Aluminum scrap: The Z handles aluminum and magnesium scrap with speed and precision due to its excellent performance on Mg, Al and Si. Laser is especially recommended for aluminum that is anodized or contains surface dirt. The Z will burn through the surface layers. X-ray requires a grind in these cases.

Light elements: Use Z when measuring elements Li, Be, B, C in alloys, or <0.2% Mg. For example, Li, Be and/or B in Al alloys, Be in red metals, or B in nickel, stainless, or other alloys.

Service simply costs less

We’ve always had the lowest service costs in the industry — common repairs are typically half the industry average. But service starts with instruments that are proven durable, and especially for scrap recyclers, our XRF includes a composite reinforced nylon safety grid that defends the detector and avoids punctures from turnings. After purchase, our goal is to promote the longevity of your instrument. SciAps Service and Calibration Program includes factory calibration, software upgrades, and hardware audit to keep your analyzer working productively and minimize surprises. And no call centers. Our staff is here to answer your questions.

How does it perform?
