SciAps Handheld XRF Analyzer X-200

The Workhorse — high performance at a value price, built for sustained throughput.

At 3.1 lbs., the X-200 pairs a 50 kV, 5 W tube with a 25 mm² silicon drift detector for speed and precision comparable to top-end analyzers from other brands. Re-engineered electronics run cooler, so it tests continuously to 110°F (43°C) without drift or shutdown.

Configurations

One Analyzer, Endless Possibilities

The X-200 ships in application-specific builds, all on the same 25 mm² SDD and 50 kV, 5 W tube, and all rated for continuous operation to 110°F (43°C).

X-200 Soil

Environmental and exploration soils

The Soil App carries a standard package of 31 elements, from phosphorus through lead, with others available on request. The same one-second first result applies, and the analyzer auto-calibrates against the external 316 stainless clip so a day in the field doesn't drift.

Why Choose the X-200

Top-Tier Performance, Lower Price

  1. 01

    Fast on Every Alloy

Speed and precision comparable to top-end guns from other brands — including aluminum — at a lower price.

  2. 02

    Built for Throughput

Redesigned heat sinking allows continuous operation up to 110°F (43°C) ambient without drift or shutdown.

  3. 03

    Broad Application Range

Alloy, RoHS, mining, soil, precious metals and empirical calibrations are all available — license the apps your work needs.

  4. 04

    Detector Protector Standard

Included on every X-200 bought with the Alloy App — the high-strength window that prevents punctured detectors when jamming into turnings.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the X-200 as accurate as the premium X-Series models?

On most applications, yes — it matches the X-505/X-550 on speed and precision, with modest trade-offs only on the fastest low-atomic-number tests (for example, sulfidic-corrosion silicon in ~10s vs ~5s). For the price, it's among the best-performing handheld XRF available.

Can the X-200 run all day in hot conditions?

Yes. Its re-engineered heat sinking and lower-power electronics allow continuous operation up to 110°F (43°C) ambient without drift or shutdown — built for sustained scrap and NDT throughput.

What applications does the X-200 support?

Alloy (with Detector Protector as standard), RoHS, mining, soil, precious metals, and empirical (custom) calibrations. Apps are licensed per configuration rather than bundled, so you buy the ones your work calls for and can add others later.

Does the X-200 offer Detector Protector Technology?

Yes — an X-200 Alloy DPT configuration adds the high-strength DPT window that prevents detector punctures when jamming into turnings, standard on units purchased with the Alloy App.

XRF + LIBS

Get Both With OneBox

Pair the X-200 with a SciAps Z-Series LIBS and cover every element and sample type — same batteries, cables, chargers, and accessories. LIBS analyzes what XRF can't (Li, Be, B, C, F, Na); XRF is great for transition and heavy metals.
