We’re teaming up with The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans to make a difference at the track! Aluminum cans are 100% recyclable, yet less than half make it to a recycling facility—leading to unnecessary landfill waste and increased energy consumption. By recycling, we can conserve valuable resources and cut energy use by 95% compared to producing new cans. Even better? A recycled can could be back on store shelves in just 60-90 days.
How to Participate:
Drop off your empty aluminum cans at our designated can-drop locations in the FanZone and near the shower house and restrooms in the campground (see map here). Recycling is processed by OmniSource, with all proceeds benefiting Speedway Children’s Charities.
Can-Drop Hours:
Friday: 12 PM – 7:30 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
Win a $100 Gift Card!
Each day, we’ll select 5 lucky winners from our can donors—that’s 15 winners in total over the weekend! We’ll have bags available for fans to take to their campers or the stands, and our golf cart will be collecting cans throughout the camping areas.

🏁 SciAps + Racing +Recycling = A Winning Team! 🏁
SciAps founders have been revolutionizing recycling tech since the mid-’90s, helping develop the first XRF for scrap metal analysis. So, teaming up with Recycling is Like Magic to promote aluminum can recycling at the SciAps 300 Recycling Event was a no-brainer!
SciAps XRF and LIBS analyzers are made for metals recycling!
"We are thrilled to collaborate with 'The Girl Who Recycled a Million Cans' to showcase the significance of recycled materials in such an exciting and public way. Our technology plays a vital role in the recycled materials industry, and this partnership is a perfect opportunity to highlight the importance of sustainable practices in everyday products.”
- SciAps CEO and Co-Founder, Don Sackett
Meet the best X-ray gun ever made for scrap metal sorting. At 2.98 lbs., it’s the lightest weight analyzer ever created, in a mostly metal frame for ultimate durability and duty cycle. Perfectly balanced and lightning fast – as in 1-2 seconds – you can sort material all day long without fatigue.
The Z-70 is a rugged handheld air-burn LIBS designed specifically for material ID testing. This new device brings the same industry leading technologies SciAps customers love into a pure sorting tool. The Z-70 uses a 6 mJ/pulse laser which is the most powerful in the LIBS sorting market. An integrated air pump makes sure the window stays cleaner longer so that accurate data is being obtained.
